Creating a tortuous path structure unique to many applications, Filtrona Porous Technologies’ porous plastic components are produced from a range of polymer particles that are fused together. Materials include a range of polymers including polyolefins, polyamids, acrylics, styrenics, and others. Through the proper selection of mechanical and chemical properties, parts can vary greatly in porosity, permeability, flexibility and strength.  Porous plastic has excellent dimensional control and is produced in complex, 3-dimensional shapes.

Pore sizes range from 5 microns to greater than 250 microns, with available densities from 0.35 to 0.70. In addition to typical functionalities, additives such as self-sealing, color, and hydrophilicity are available to further enhance porous plastic performance.
