Filtrona Completes Lendell Acquisition

Richmond, Virginia USA, 17 October 2008 -- Filtrona plc (“Filtrona”) today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the business and assets of St. Charles, Michigan based Lendell Manufacturing, Inc. (“Lendell”).

Lendell is a developer and manufacturer of specialized hydrophilic foam product solutions for high-value markets in the United States and Europe. The key markets served by Lendell include medical wound care, consumer products and cosmetics, and agricultural as well as other industrial applications.

As previously announced, the Filtrona Bonded Fiber Components division has been renamed and launched as Filtrona Porous Technologies, comprising of both Filtrona Fibertec and Lendell. Filtrona Porous Technologies will operate as a developer and manufacturer of liquid handling and other specialty, porous components based on fiber, foam, and other media for use in consumer and professional end-use devices. RussRogers, President of the Filtrona Porous Technologies division, commented, “With the acquisition now complete, the team is positioned to begin implementing the global growth strategy with our increased product portfolio.”

Filtrona Porous Technologies Division will be headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, with offices and manufacturing locations in Richmond, Virginia, Reinbek, Germany; Ningbo, China; and now Saint Charles, Michigan. Julie Hill, currently a member of the Filtrona management team in Richmond, has been appointed to the position of General Operations Manager for the St. Charles plant.
The new Filtrona Porous Technologies website (http://www.filtronaporoustechnologies.com) will be launched to support the bonded fiber and foam technology products as a technical and marketing resource.
